Week 6 Picks: Thursday Night Edition

Can Chris Johnson still be called CJ2K?
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) @ Tennessee Titans (1-4)
In 2009, Chris Johnson ran for 2,006 yards, earning his current nickname CJ2K.  Every year since then, Johnson's yards per game has fallen from 125.4 in '09, to 85.3 in '10, to 65.4 last season, and so far this season has been his worst, averaging a measly 42 yards per game. The negative trend for a 27 year old running back is a curious thing. Jake Locker could benefit from having any semblance of a running game. So far he has not gotten that and his teams record reflects that. The Steelers got their number one rusher back last week and it paid dividends. Rashard Mendenhall gained 68 yards on just 13 carries last week. The Steelers woes might have been solved.  This game tonight could just about end the Titans season and be a springboard to Steelers playoff hopes. That is how I see it playing out.  The Steelers will win this one ugly even without Troy Polamalu on defense. Steelers 20, Titans 16
